Brighton’s first musical love is cello, although as a music therapist she also plays piano, guitar, autoharp, and is slowly learning some ukulele.  As a child she started playing piano and singing in show choirs, but after unexpectedly stumbling into cello in middle school, pursued it as her main focus.  She enjoyed playing with the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association in high school.

She graduated from Colorado State University with a Music Therapy degree, Cello Performance Certificate, and String Pedagogy Certificate.  During her time at CSU she played in the symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, and chamber groups.   More recently, Brighton has played in band settings of more popular music, folk, church / contemporary Christian music, and Celtic.  She especially would love to learn more Celtic styles!

Brighton teaches kids through adults, and believes finding the right learning style for each individual lends to success.  She is more than happy to take on students with limited or special abilities for adapted lessons, because everyone deserves an opportunity and support to master their goals!
