Michelle Pietrafitta has been playing the drum set for over 12 years.  While attending State University of New York for music, she focused on various styles including funk, rock,  and jazz and played with the school's Frank Zappa Ensemble for three years. After gigging regionally in the New York area for six years, she moved out to Fort Collins to start her project Punch Drunk Munky Funk, a project which gained wide spread support in Colorado and regionally.  With this band, Pietrafitta shared the stage with musicians including Victor Wooten, Kyle Hollingsworth and Michael Travis (String Cheese Incident) and Larry Keel.

She is now gigging with various bands and touring regionally and nationally.  Her teaching style is sensitive to each students goals and interests and she believes that a solid foundation paired with a focus on creativity and listening skills are essential to being a successful musician.  Most importantly, music should be fun and she aims to take that approach while teaching students of all ages.
