Tobi S. Hunter, Piano Teacher

Background:

- Born and raised in Nebraska.  Die hard Nebraska Cornhusker Fan.  Moved to Colorado in March 2000.

- Have played piano for 40+ years as well as flute for 35+ years.  Started teaching lessons at the age of 16.

- Former music studios in Monterey, California; Savannah, Georgia and McCook, Nebraska.  In each location, I’ve worked with more than 75+ students, ages ranging from 3 to 80.  I’ve been fortunate to remain in touch with many of my former students who are now married and having children.

- I like to teach all styles of music.  It is important to have a well-rounded experience when you are learning different styles from different eras.   I’ve been active in community orchestras, musicals and churches over the years.  Formerly played piano for one of the worship teams at Timberline Church.

- I’m the proud mother of a 21-year old daughter who is now living on her own.  Empty nest syndrome has been an adjustment. My two dogs, Zoey and Sally Sue, as well as my cat, Annie Mai, keep me grounded.  In addition, I am an Auntie to an adorable “almost 4-year-old”, Colton Wesley, who lives in Omaha.  Frontier miles are earned regularly with visits!!

- Employed as an Executive Assistant to six Vice-Presidents at Hach Company in Loveland for the past 14 years.  I’ve had the privilege to work with many domestic and international businesses in this position.

- I hold an MBA from Franklin University and on occasion teach classes at the local community colleges.  The reason for the relocation to Colorado was based upon employment at Aims Community College.  Prior to relocating, I worked in Student Services for McCook Community College. My goal is to someday become a Dean of Students at a college.

- I am a people person and love working with people to meet their goals, help build self-esteem and confidence in who they are.
